Lord Sugar Beauty Business: Plans

US expansion and mulls the public Vegan skincare brands available Lord Sugar Beauty Business is considering a stock market flotation for a vegan skincare company founded by an Apprentice runner up as part of his ambitious US expansion plans.

Tropic Skincare has just reported a record turnover for 2018, at PS29.5million, after having sold 3.3 million products in 2017.

Susie Ma, a contestant on The Apprentice 2011, founded it. It is still the only business that was run by a runner up from The Apprentice. Lord Sugar Beauty Business is a 50-50 partner. Lord Sugar Beauty Business stated that the company’s revenue could surpass PS100 million within five years. At that point, it would be looking across the Atlantic to find further growth opportunities.

He said, “I think we will hit PS100 million to PS150million turnover, and then the profits will be very very high.” We may consider flotation of the company at that point to finance replication in America.”

He and his business partner agreed that Tropic would remain an online brand with a network Avon-style social reps, rather than expanding to the high street.

Ms Ma stated that “There will always exist a place to shop brick-and-mortar, but I feel that consumers are shifting away from it because of the convenience aspect.”

She spoke out about the possible effects of Brexit on business. She said that it would be resilient to most problems, but could face staffing difficulties if EU workers delay coming to the UK.

She stated that it would be a shame for Britain to become less appealing to international workers because it has made it seem unwelcoming.
